Training for Duathlon racing is similar to that of triathon in its
multi-discipline speed/endurance training focus. With both sports
being run under the same world governing body ITU, the sports have
been inevitably linked side by side since the beginning. Over the
last couple of years Duathlon has really stepped out of the shadow
of triathlon and is now receiving a lot of media attention and focus
from potential sponsors as well as increased prize money for both
men and women.
Because of the large amounts of training required to compete in
multi-discipline sport, it has to be done correctly if you are to
get the most out of what you put in. There is no point going out day
after day and doing the same old thing! Training should be well
planned and progressive remembering that “it’s not the miles you do
but how you do the miles” that counts in the long run.

any problems in the build up such as injuries or other setbacks, you

and race/training statistics will be stored within your area so both
you and your coach can have easy access to your information, you
will also be able to leave notes for you coach as well as you coach
being able to leave notes and additional training information for
you. Only you and your coach will be able to access the information
and is protected by a log in pass word.
This new online system will allow us to monitor your training more
closely meaning it will be easier for us know what works best for
you and your training. In this way we will be able to constantly
improve your program based on your feedback thus tailoring you
program more closely to your needs and in the process will be able
to build a repour with you on a one to one basis and guide you
towards achieving your triathlon sporting goals.
